To add music or sound effects to your Clipchamp video, you can either use the Add Media plus button or drag and dropthe file from your computer into the Your Media tab.

If you would like to add audio from the stock library instead, please see: Adding stock music and audio.

Clipchamp currently does not support recording of audio only using your computer's microphone however, we are working on adding this feature.

NOTE: You can also add computer-generated voiceovers to your projects using our text-to-speech voiceover feature.

How to add an audio file from your computer

You can add audio to your video from your computer in a few different ways.

Option 1. Drag and drop audio files from your device to import.

Drag and drop your audio files from your device into the importing tab.

Option 2. Click on the import media button to import audio from your files

Click on the import media button to browse your device's files. Click on the audio file you would like to add, then click open.

Option 3. Click on the arrow button to import audio files using one of our integrations.

Click on the down arrow to open importing media options. Select one of our integrations like OneDrive or Dropbox.

Option 4. Use your smartphone with the QR code.

If you would like to import audio files from your phone, click on the from phone button and then use your phone's camera to scan the QR code and open the website to select your media.

How to add audio to the timeline

Once the new audio file appears in the your media tab, drag and drop it into the timeline below your video track.

How to trim or split audio to fit 

You can move, split or trim the audio, use the green sidebars. Drag the handles left and right to edit the length.

You can also split your audio file by clicking on the split button (scissors icon).

Your audio file will now be split into two. Click on the excess audio, then click the delete button (trash can icon).
