You can add text, titles, captions, or subtitles to your videos. Read on to see how.

Step 1. Click the text menu button 

Click on the text tab on the left toolbar. A variety of different titles and text options will appear. To preview the animated text options, hover your cursor over the top of the title.

Step 2. Drag and drop a title onto the timeline

Once you have found a title that suits your video, drag and drop it onto the timeline above your media assets.

Step 3. Edit the duration of your title

Click on your text box so it's highlighted green. Drag the green sidebars left and right to adjust the duration of the text.

Step 4. Edit your text

Click on the text tab on the right property panel. Here, you can edit what your text says and the font style.

Step 5. Edit the color of your text

To change the color of your text, click on the color tab on the right property panel. Depending on what elements your title has, you can change multiple colors. Edit border colors, primary and secondary colors, background colors, accent colors, and more.

Choose a color from the preset palette at the bottom by clicking the rainbow symbol and adjusting the slider, dot, or RGB values or by entering a color code.

Step 6. Edit the size of your text

If you want to change the size or position of your text, click on the transform tab on the right property panel. Here, you can edit the size of your text by sliding the toggle left and right. You can also change the position of your text using the grid.

If you want to freehand your text, adjust your text size using the white corners. You can also move your text freely around the preview screen.

Step 7. Add a filter to your title

If you want to take your title to the next level, add a fun filter. Click on the filters tab on the right property panel. To preview the filter options, hover your cursor over the top of the filter. Click on a filter to apply.

Step 8. Adjust your text colors and opacity

To change your title's exposure, saturation, temperature, contrast, and opacity, click on the adjust colors tab on the right property panel. Slide the toggles left and right to adjust the colors.

Note: You can also add white, black, or color backgrounds behind a title. To learn more, see: adding black or a solid color.
