Print a web page using the system Print dialog

  2. At the top of the page, select Settings and more  > Print  , or press Ctrl+P in Windows or Command+P in macOS.

Access print options available in legacy Microsoft Edge

To access the print options that were available in the legacy Microsoft Edge Print dialog, such as paper source, media, and print quality, do the following:

  1. Open the system Print dialog, as described in the section above.

  2. In the Select Printer list, select your printer.

  3. Select Preferences.

  4. In the Layout and Paper/Quality tabs, choose the options you want. Note that the options available depend on the printer you've selected.

  5. Select OK, and then select Print.

Print clutter free

A clutter-free print option removes surrounding material, such as ads and site navigation, from a printed web page. We're working to release a clutter-free printing option that will be available directly through the print dialog. In the meantime, you can use Immersive Reader as a workaround for clutter-free printing. Note that Immersive Reader may not be available for all websites.

  1. Open the website you want to print.

  2. In the address bar, select the Immersive Reader icon  , or press F9 (on Windows devices) to enter Immersive Reader.

    Select Immersive Reader

  1. At the top of the page, select Settings and more  > Print  , or press Ctrl+P in Windows or Command+P in macOS.

Tip: You can also right-click on any empty space on the page and select Print in the context menu.

  2. Select the print settings you want and then select Print.

Print part of a webpage

To print only a part of a website, do the following:

  1. Click and drag over a section of text or images to select the part of the website you want to print.

  2. Right-click the selected text and then select Print  in the context menu.

  3. Choose the print options you want and then select Print.

Add the date to the page header

To print the current date in the header, do the following:

  1. Open the website or PDF document you want to print.

  2. At the top of the page, select Settings and more  > Print  , or press Ctrl+P on Windows devices or Command+P on macOS devices.

Tip: You can also right-click any empty space on the page and select Print in the context menu.

  3. Select More settings > Headers and footers. This option adds the current date to the document header.

    Select Headers and footers

Print page numbers in the page footer

To print page numbers that appear in the footer, do the following:

This option adds a page number to the footer on each page.

    Select Headers and footers

Remove or include the web page background when printing

You can include background graphics when you print a web page.

  1. Open the website or web app document you want to print.

  2. At the top of the page, select Settings and more  > Print  , or press Ctrl+P on Windows devices or Command+P on macOS devices.

Tip: You can also right-click any empty space on the page and select Print in the context menu.

  3. Select More settings > Background graphics to include the web page background in your print output or leave it unchecked to ignore the background.

    Select Background graphics

Tip: If the print preview or output looks different from the web page you're printing, you should include the background graphics.

Why is the orientation of my output different from what I see in print preview?

If your printer is printing in landscape when you've selected portrait in print preview, your printer settings might be affecting your output. To resolve this issue in Windows 10, do the following:

  1. Right-click Start and select Run.

  2. In the Open box, enter "Control," and then press OK.

  3. Under Hardware and Sound, select View devices and printers.

  4. Right-click your printer and select Printer properties.

  5. Select Preferences.

  6. In the Layout tab under Orientation, change the orientation setting to Portrait.

    Select Portrait orientation
