  • The Avatars for Microsoft Teams app must be allowed by your IT admin. Learn more

  • Avatars for Teams are currently available in the Microsoft Teams desktop app on Windows and Mac. Avatars are not supported in Teams for web, and are supported as view-only in the Teams mobile app.

Avatars for Microsoft Teams enable you to build connections in meetings without turning your video on. Include more people in the conversation—whether they need a break due to video fatigue or just feel more comfortable with their video off. Add a new layer of choice to your meetings.

Here’s what you can do with Avatars in Teams:

Install the Avatars app

Create an avatar

Customize your avatars

Join your meetings as an avatar

Interact with emotes, gestures, and more

Avatar reactions and gestures

When you use the React option on the Teams meeting menu, your avatar will bring the normal 2D emojis to life. Laughing, clapping, and smiling aren't just flat images anymore: they're what your avatar does.

The same thing goes for raising your hand: when you select Raise, your avatar will raise its hand!
