How to add an email address or phone number to your Microsoft account

When your old email address or phone number doesn't suit you anymore—but you want to retain your contacts, online storage, subscriptions, and settings—you can add a new email address or phone number as an alias to your existing Microsoft account. An alias is another email address or phone number that works with the same account.

1. Sign in to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft. If you’re having issues signing in to your Microsoft account, see Microsoft account help for more info.

2. Select Add email or Add phone number.

3. Follow the instructions to add a new email address or phone number to your Microsoft account aliases.
