How to spend all of your Microsoft gift card money

When you redeem a Microsoft gift card, we put the entire amount into your Microsoft account. If an item you want to buy from Microsoft Store costs more than what's in your account, here's what you can do.

1. If you don't have another payment option in your Microsoft account, such as a credit card or PayPal, you can add one.
   
   

2. Continue through checkout. If your Microsoft account isn't your payment option, choose Change, and then select it.

3. Finish checking out. We'll use your Microsoft account balance first, and then pay the difference with your other payment option.
